Day 1 – Johannesburg to Nelspruit

  • Our representative will meet you at Nelspruit (KMI) Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport and you will commence your 2 nights 3 days tour of the Kruger Park and its environs.
  • We head for the Malalane Gate in the south and enter the Kruger National Park. En-route we are sure to see elephant wallowing in the Sabi River as well as bushbuck and kudu browsing in the thickets.
  • We stop off for a light lunch  as we head for our overnight stay in our first camp.

  • Game viewing will be experienced throughout the afternoon and early evening.
  • This evening we will enjoy a traditional South African braai prepared by your guide and experience one of the captivating sunsets of this region.

Day 2 – Southern Kruger

  • We leave the camp very early in the morning for game viewing. We will stop for morning tea and rusks en-route.
  • The area we visit today is home to the Big Five mainly lions where the largest prides have been found in this area. As we travel further midst the beauty of the savannah grasslands and magnificent plains, we encounter many animals together with the predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena.
  • We return early afternoon where we will enjoy a light lunch back at Satara.

  • An afternoon drive will be taken along the Timbavati road where we may spot the famous White Lions of the Timbavati region.
  • During this drive we are able to see the great raptors such as Tawny, Martial and Bateleur eagles, Secretary Bird and vulture.

Day 3 – Kruger to Johannesburg

Early departure for KMI for our flight to Johannesburg International Airport.

  • We will still see some game as we head out of the Kruger towards the main gate. The vegetation in the north differs markedly from the central and southern areas where the east and west expanses of veldt are characterised by mixed Combretum (bush willows) and Mopane veldt.
  • We arrive at KMI at lunch time for our Flight.

Our journey through the region follows the rhino, elephant and hippos paths that became linked with human footpaths through the aeons. These paths would be beaten hard by the tribesmen, warriors, traders, soldiers and settlers in a land that would become significant on the African continent.

This land is beautiful and in the words of the Zulu people, their mountains are ‘…more beautiful than the singing thereof’.

Day 1 – Depart Johannesburg and arrive in Nelspruit

Wild Life and Scenery

This package takes you through the Kruger National Park and its surroundings. Prepare to be dazzled by the Big Five, prolific bird life and amazing fauna and flora. A visit to the “Magnificent Seven” museum where the tusks of the great Phelwane, Mafuyane, Shingwedzi and Shawu are on display.

If you are already a lover of the great outdoors or would like to learn more about the wonders of nature this trip is a definite must. Some of the possible sightings include lion, leopard, cheetah, rhino, elephant, a plethora of buck including Nyala, Impala and Bushbuck as well as a large variety of birds

Day 1 – Johannesburg to Kruger National Park

  • On arrival in Nelspruit at the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport KMI you will be collected by your guide. (Option 2 to fly into Skukuza)
  • Transfer ex KMI to Kruger National Park.
  • We enter the Kruger National Park in the late afternoon. En route we are sure to see elephant wallowing in the Sabi River as well as Bushbuck and Kudu browsing in the thickets.
  • This area offers the visitor excellent game viewing as the animals cross the road to drink from the fast flowing waters of the Sabi River. Large prides of lion are regularly encountered along this road.

Day 2  – Kruger National Park

  • We depart early morning towards Tshokwane where we will stop for morning tea and a light breakfast.
  • Tshokwane is home to the Big Five. The largest prides of lion have been found in this area.
  • As we travel further amidst the beauty of the savanna grasslands and magnificent plains, we encounter many animals including the predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena.
  • We will enjoy a light lunch at Satara Restaurant where one can easily tick off roughly 20 bird species whilst eating.

Day 3 – Northern Kruger

  • We depart early morning  for the Northern Kruger Park through the Mopani Woodlands. The vegetation in the North differs markedly from the Central and Southern areas where the East and West expanses of Mopane shrubveld are characterized by mixed Combretum (bush willows) and Mopane veldt.
  • The area supports numerous herds of elephant with the main attraction being the prolific bird life. The beautiful red and white flowers of the Impala Lilies make the riverbanks a special attraction.
  • We will traverse the Shingwedzi and Tshange rivers. This is leopard country and a sighting is very possible!

  • After lunch we will head to Letaba. Here we will spend some time at the Letaba rest camp bird watching along the periphery fence, visit the “Magnificent Seven” museum where the tusks of the great Phelwane, Mafuyane, Shingwedzi and Shawu are on display.

Day 4 – Northern Kruger

  • Depart for the Limpopo district where we will head for the camp at Punda Maria.
  • From the rest camp we will drive along the Luvuvhu River where we could spot the elusive Pel’s Fishing Owl, Cape and Brown Headed Parrots, Broadbill and Carmine Bee-eaters. In the morning we will take on the Pafuri Drive along the Klopperfontein Loop and might see elephant, buffalo, Tsessebe, yala, lion and the rare Lichtentsteins hartebeest.
  • In the afternoon we will visit the Thulamela Archeological Site. The Pafuri area is known for its huge baobab trees, with specimens of over 15m in height and with a circumference of over 30m. The very large specimen could be between3000 and 4000 years old. Specials sightings in the Pafuri region are Eland, Sable, Suni, lion, wild dog and Samango monkeys.

Day 5 – Southern Kruger

  • After an early breakfast we head further South for the Private Game Lodge which is in the environs of the Kruger.
  • We arrive in time for lunch.
  • Early evening Game Drive en route we stop off for sun-downers

Day 6 – Southern Kruger

  • We are up early this morning for a game drive with a ranger in an open vehicle, experiencing the awakening of the bush veld.  As we travel we encounter many animals including predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena.
  • Return for breakfast at the lodge.
  • Afternoon at leisure enjoy relaxing by the pool or a spa treatment.
  • This is followed by an early evening game drive.
  • En route we stop off for sun-downers.
  • We return to the camp where we enjoy a delicious South African dinner either in the boma or main restaurant dependant on the weather.

Day 7:

  • After an early breakfast we depart and head back to Nelspruit Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMI)
  • Flight back to Johannesburg.
